ABOUT THE BAND

Urethane is a dynamic pop-punk band hailing from San Diego, California. Formed in 2020 during the pandemic, the band unites a powerhouse lineup: legendary skateboarder and guitarist Steve Caballero (The Faction, Odd Man Out), Tim Fennelly on vocals and guitar (War Fever), Chad Ruiz on bass (Skipjack), and Dylan Wade on drums (formerly of The Bombpops). Their sound, deeply rooted in punk rock and melodic hardcore, fuses high-energy riffs, infectious choruses, and introspective lyrics.

The band’s debut album, Chasing Horizons, was released in 2021 through Cyber Tracks, produced by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Alkaline Trio, NOFX). Featuring collaborations with punk icons Toby Morse (H2O) and Jim Lindberg (Pennywise), the album set the stage for their ascent in the punk rock scene. In 2023, Urethane released Dog Years, a two-song single that further showcased their evolving artistry.

Since their formation, Urethane has toured extensively across North America, Europe, and Asia, earning a loyal following through electrifying performances and a raw, authentic connection with fans. Drawing inspiration from bands like Bad Religion, NOFX, and No Use for a Name, Urethane’s music remains a testament to punk’s enduring spirit and emotional depth.

Lifted from the album, the infectious sing-along punk rock anthem "Remember Me" features Brenna Red (The Last Gang) on vocals and Matt Hensley (Flogging Molly) on accordion. The song was produced, engineered, and mixed by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Pennywise). "I was watching the real Buddy Holly story that Paul McCartney wrote in the early '80s," says bassist Chad Ruiz. "In one of the interviews, Buddy Holly's brothers sang this melody that instantly got trapped in my head. Throughout the years it was always on my bucket list to turn this melody into a punk anthem. An anthem of love, hope, friendship, and prosperity." "Our best music video to date," adds guitarist, professional skateboarder, and cultural icon Steve Caballero. Their debut album Chasing Horizons was produced, engineered, and mixed by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Pennywise) and was released on September 24, 2021. The band will be touring as well including some festival appearances. The album title was derived from the song “Wyoming” - a song about giving up, running away, and starting over. “There is a line where the character is on an open road chasing the horizon and it just made sense,” explains bassist Chad Ruiz. “During the short life of this band we have been chasing horizons non-stop. It’s that kind of fun feeling you get when you’re just out on the road going for it. We are very blessed to be chasing horizons.” Chasing Horizons is jam-packed with catchy choruses and melodic hooks that range from mid-tempo sing-a-longs to aggressive fist-pumping screamers. Also, it was written during quarantine so the lyrical theme leans a bit dark. From depression (“Gravity”) to narcissism (“Avalanches” feat. Toby Morse of H2O) to the bad traits and genetics we inherit and are forced to live with (“Inheritance” feat. Jim Lindberg of Pennywise) to being your own worst enemy (“Love Letter Bombs”) to contentious relationships (“What You Get”) to love conquering even the darkest times (“What Becomes Of Us”) - lead vocalist and guitarist Tim Fennelly examines the challenges of everyday life.
